VETASSESS skills assessment support
A VETASSESS assessment for a professional occupation considers an authority-specific occupation and evidence context. The nominated occupation, relevant qualifications and employment record need to be reviewed as a connected history rather than treated as interchangeable documents.

Define the professional occupation context
Begin with the occupation under consideration and the current VETASSESS information for that occupation. Similar job titles may describe different duties, so a title by itself does not determine the appropriate assessment approach.
Review qualification and employment material
KITES may assist with arranging qualification and employment records and identifying gaps or questions for further checking. Assistance is limited to the agreed service and does not create missing records or decide how VETASSESS will evaluate them.
Check the current authority process
The person’s occupation, study and work history should be considered against current VETASSESS guidance before a submission is prepared. A separate migration question may require separate advice even when an assessment is part of the broader plan.
VETASSESS makes the assessment finding
The assessing authority controls the assessment decision. A skills assessment is not a visa grant, and neither a document review nor an assessment outcome determines a later Home Affairs decision.
