Skills assessments for migration
A migration skills assessment considers an occupation and evidence under the rules of the relevant assessing authority. It is a separate assessment process and is not itself a visa decision.
Choose the assessing-authority pathway
The relevant authority depends on the occupation and the authority’s current requirements. ACS, VETASSESS, Engineers Australia and Trades Recognition Australia each control their own assessment processes and outcomes.

Evidence categories, assessment methods and authority instructions vary and can change. Check the relevant authority’s current official guidance before deciding what evidence may be needed or how an assessment relates to a broader migration plan.
